Apropos maybe…Vesta? Sorry for the digression but I couldn’t resist.

I’m a big fan of space research and have been following the Dawn probe to the asteroid Vesta – second largest in the solar system. Amazing mission to put a satellite orbiting this tiny (330 mile diameter) body, itself orbiting between Mars and Jupiter.

There is a beautiful “image” – they don’t call it a photo – of Vesta that is now my computer’s wallpaper of the south pole of Vesta, resolved down to maybe 10′? Image shows a massive impact crater and a mountain taller than Everest. Amazing stuff.
